Camera Interface Cables

Lumitron offers a variety of interface cabling options for our camera products. These off-the-shelf solutions allow the customer to select cable type, cable length, and the number of cable ends to be terminated (both ends, one end, or none). It should be noted that all Lumitron cameras have the same electrical interface (connectors and pin outs). This interface consists of a single, circular 27 pin connector for all camera power and I/O as well as a single BNC connector for local analog video out. This design allows for a standard set of interface cables to cover a wide range of application needs.

Camera Link Interface Cables

This cable series is for the customer that requires access to the digital video output of the camera (along with all other standard I/Os). There are two cable types to consider. Both types include 9 twisted pairs (for communication, clock, sync, serialized digital video and power), an over-all braid and a PVC jacket. In addition to the 9 twisted pairs, one cable type includes a 75-ohm coaxial cable for remote analog video transmission. While allowing all camera signals to be accommodated via a single cable, the embedded coaxial cable version does incur a cost premium.

Lumitron Part Number Description
410-00000049-xxx Camera Link Interface Cable Assembly (w/ coax, both ends terminated)
410-00000051-xxx Camera Link Interface Cable Assembly (w/ coax, camera end terminated)
178-3021-66-xxx Camera Link Interface Cable Assembly (w/ coax, no ends terminated)
410-00000053-xxx Camera Link Interface Cable Assembly (w/o coax, both ends terminated)
410-00000055-xxx Camera Link Interface Cable Assembly (w/o coax, camera end terminated)
9834-xxx Camera Link Interface Cable Assembly (w/o coax, no ends terminated)

 Serial Port Interface Cables

This cable series is for the customer that only requires analog video and camera communication functions. The cable used in this series has fewer conductors than the Camera Link Interface versions and therefore is smaller and more economical. The cable includes 4 twisted pairs (for communication and power), an over-all braid and a PVC jacket. In addition to the 4 twisted pairs, there is a version of the serial port interface cable that incorporates a 75-ohm coax for remote analog video transmission.

Lumitron Part Number Description
410-00000050-xxx Serial Port Interface Cable Assembly (w/ coax, both ends terminated)
410-00000052-xxx Serial Port Interface Cable Assembly (w/ coax, camera end terminated)
178-3028-66-xxx Serial Port Interface Cable Assembly (w/ coax, no ends terminated)
410-00000054-xxx Serial Port Interface Cable Assembly (w/o coax, both ends terminated)
410-00000056-xxx Serial Port Interface Cable Assembly (w/o coax, camera end terminated)
9831-xxx Serial Port Interface Cable Assembly (w/o coax, no ends terminated)

For both series of cables, “xxx” is the distance of the cable in feet, to be specified by the customer. In most cases the minimum length is 10 feet (010) and the maximum length is 250 feet (250). Please contact Lumitron with your application requirements for exact details / options.
